Our top five baby shower games

Our top five baby shower games

There is no better way to celebrate the mum-to-be, than a baby shower. Once the venue, food, drinks, and decorations have been taken care of, it’s time to start planning the most fun part of the occasion – the games! Since there are so many to choose from, here is a list of our top five…

1. Onesie Decoration

Grab some wash safe markers or paint and decorate some plain onesies with a fun or meaningful message for Mum, or with a colourful design. Top tip- stretch the onesie over some cardboard to make it easier to draw and paint on.

2. Diaper Notes

Decorate a bunch of diapers with a funny message, special note, or words of advice using a black marker. These will definitely put a smile on the faces of the soon-to-be tired parents during those middle of the night diaper changes.

3. Guess the Baby

This one is great for a trip down memory lane but does require a little help from the guests before the event itself. Everyone needs to submit a picture of themselves as a baby to the party organiser who can then print them all out and place them on a pinboard. The game aims to guess who is who, with a prize going to the person with the most correct answers.

4. Dirty Diapers

Of course, no one loves a dirty diaper, but what if the ‘dirty’ part is actually chocolate?! This infamous baby shower game is not only gross but likely to generate the most laughs. All you need to do is smear several different types of melted chocolate bars into newborn diapers, making sure that there is some variety in consistency and texture (think milky, dark chocolate, nutty, caramel, toffee and so on) and let the guests take a sniff or lick of each one. The game aims to guess which chocolate bar brand is in each one… the winner is the one with the best nose or tastebuds!

5. Baby Items in the Bag

This practical guessing game is not only lots of fun but doubles up as a gift for the parent-to-be too. Simply place ten common, useful baby items inside a diaper bag such as a bib, teething ring, bottle, rattle, small toy, muslin, etc. Each guest has to take it in turns to have a feel around inside the bag- without looking of course- and then try to guess as many of the items as possible. The winner is the person with the most correct guesses and the parents to get to keep the bag and items.

Here are a few of our favourite items that would be great for including in the diaper bag:

and not forgetting the diaper bag itself:
