7 Tips for Safe Traveling with Your Family

Adventures and traveling are always fun – especially when it is a family adventure. But we should not forget that we need to stay safe and hygienic during those adventures. So, in order to keep your family safe and germ-free. We gathered 7 hygienic tips for safe traveling.

Tips for Safe Traveling with Your Family

1| Always have a face mask on you.

Moving outdoors without a face mask is never a good idea, even post pandemic. Having a face mask with you at all times is a must when going out. Therefore, you must always have face masks for both you and your children. You can get disposable masks and keep a few in your bag and in your children’s bags. Also, you can use fabric face masks. They are practical and they come in many fun designs for kids. However, make sure to wash them regularly to avoid spreading germs and viruses.

2| Plan a sanitizing kit for every person traveling with you.

When packing, make sure you have sanitizing kits for both you, your spouse, and your kids. Having one kit is not enough because you might lose a hand sanitizer or a face mask. And you do not want that during traveling because it might stress you out.

Therefore, we suggest getting small bags and filling them with the essentials. And pack them in easy to reach places. Like your handbag, a carry on, or a diaper bag. And here are the most essential items to have in a hygiene kit:

Of course, you can always make this kit more personal. Add to it any items you need quick access to. Like contact lens containers, hand cream, and whatever else you or your kids might need.

3| Get the documents in order.

Safe traveling post pandemic requires many documents. Some countries still require a recent PCR test and a copy of your vaccination certificate. So, make sure to know what documents you need regarding this.

Also, you mustn’t travel without both travel insurance and health insurance. This will keep you, your kids, and your luggage safe. It will be very beneficial for you especially if you or your family needed medical care during traveling.

You can get a document bag to keep all your documents safe. Including passports, PCR tests, insurance, identifications, and more.

4| Luggage needs sanitizing the most.

Luggage gets more contact with other surfaces when traveling. Therefore, you need to sanitize them to get rid of any germs or viruses. Use disinfectant wipes to disinfect the handle when you get your luggage from baggage claim. Once you are settled, use a disinfectant spray to disinfect every spot from handle to wheels. Make sure to do this before opening your bags to keep your clothes clean and germ-free.

5| Avoid crowds and try to stick with private rides.

While avoiding crowds can be a little challenging, especially if you are going sightseeing. We recommend checking the least crowded areas and times. This way you will make sure your family won’t get into contact with germs or viruses. It also helps avoid getting any infections.

Moreover, try to stick to private rides rather than public ones. Like booking a private van to tour your destination or getting Ubers whenever you need. Most of those private ride companies keep their vehicles clean and sanitized. But sanitizing your hands and where you are sitting is not a bad idea either.

6| Hotels are usually clean but disinfecting hotel rooms is a must.

It is important to book in a hotel that surely takes care of disinfecting and cleaning rooms. But even so, we recommend doing a quick disinfecting run in your hotel room. Use disinfecting wipes and sanitizing sprays to get all surfaces, seats, and door handles. Get the small items as well, such as remote controls and light switches.

In addition, use sanitizing spray to disinfect the bathroom including sink, toilet, and shower. This way, you will be rest assured that everything is clean and your family is perfectly safe.

7| Make sure your destination is family friendly.

Finally, always make sure you choose a destination that is family friendly. There are two main reasons for that. One, when choosing a family friendly destination, you will be sure to have family fun. Rather than doing nothing and getting no fun or exploring during your stay. And two, most family friendly destinations care more about sanitization, disinfection, and keeping places clean and virus-free.
