You’ve Had The baby; Now it’s Time to Go Home, Are You Ready?

Being a first-time mum has enough stresses and worries about what is happening, parenting and what is right or wrong, never lone the added stress of the conflicting advice from well-meaning family and friends!

So, here is a simple list of the essential things to have ready and waiting at home that will make your journey as a first-time mum that bit easier.

First things first, Dr Brown’s Breastfeeding Pillow is a must! You will be tired at times; your back might be aching, you might be breastfeeding or just need to sit with your baby comfortably. This pillow will let you comfortably and safely support your baby in a variety of positions (without exhausting your arms or injuring your back), thanks to the multilayer design. If you are breastfeeding it also allows you to support your baby at the right height to make it comfortable for them and for you.

Sometimes you just need a break, you need to have your hands free, or perhaps you wish to sit and eat a meal with two hands, or maybe your baby is just struggling to settle, and you need a helping hand. This is where the Minos 2-in-1 Swing & Rocker comes in. It has so many wonderful functions that will soon become your new best friend. Not only does it help give you a break, but it also helps to soothe and comfort your baby, it has a gentle swing and rock function, has a rotating toy holder to keep your bub entertained as well as music. Best of all, it is super safe with a 5 point harness and built-in new-born head support to make sure your precious bub is secure.

This Sleepyhead® Deluxe Pod is a must have, you will be carting it around with you everywhere you go. Here’s why:
– It re-invents the womb – cosy and safe
– Reduces the risk of the flat head syndrome
– It can be taken with you anywhere – a hygienic and safe place for baby to lay or nap wherever you go
– It reduces the startle reflex
– It can grow with your child
– Can be used in lots of ways – helping with tummy time, bonding with siblings in a safe way (baby can’t roll out by accident)
– It’s the perfect spot to lay baby down while they are awake or asleep.
Another option is the Red Castle Cacoonababy that provides your baby with a comforting, reassuring, womb-like surrounding at night time and during day naps.

I have left the best for last; the Purflo Pur-Air Breathable Bedside Crib is the perfect crib for when you bring your baby home. I love this crib because it is adjustable to fit perfectly next to your bed (a safer option than co-sleeping) with a drop-down side that allows you to easily feed or pick up your baby without having to get out of bed. It’s surrounded by breathable mesh and has a breathable mattress which means there is less chance to over-heat plus it can also be adjusted to an incline to help with reflux.

I hope these five items make those first few weeks a bit easier and make your journey into motherhood less exhausting!
