Preparing dinner sometimes is easier said than done. Especially if you want to make a main course with a few sides. Everything takes up more work and utensils that leaves a messy kitchen and an exhausted mum. But imagine if you can cook everything in one pot. Wouldn’t that be amazing? Here are some amazing recipes for dinner including a main course, and some delicious side dishes. All in one kitchen gadget: Nutricook Multicooker!

What side dishes can I make using Nutricook Multicooker?

Steamed veggies

Who does not love a good side of delicious steamed vegetables? They go great with grilled chickens, stakes, or fish. You can always serve them with some gravy on top for an extra special flavor. Here is how to make them in your Nutricook Multicooker:

  • – Add in about one or one and a half cups of water into your cooking pot.
  • – Place your steam basket inside the cooking pot. Turn on your Nutricook Multicooker and choose the option steam.
  • – Add whatever vegetables you like. Such as carrots, potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, and green beans. You can mix them up with some species like oregano before doing so.
  • – Set the times for about 5-6 minutes and lock the lid.

And this is how you can get some delicious steamed veggies within minutes.

Chili

To make chili in Nutricook’s Smart Pot you’re going to start by choosing either suate or the stew. You will probably need about 30 minutes to cook the whole thing. But the timing can change depending on the ingredients and quantity.

To make the best chili, start by adding oil and butter in your cooking pot. Then add in onions and diced peppers. You can use hot spicy peppers, or simply any kind of pepper you prefer. Cook the two together for a few minutes and then add in some crushed garlic. Keep stirring until everything softens and the onion becomes translucent.

In this stage you can add in your ground meat, chicken, or a vegetarian choice like black beans. Cook everything together until almost done. Now, it is time to add in some liquids. Start by adding about a juice of one lemon and about two cans of diced tomatoes. You can choose flavored diced tomatoes, some come with onions and garlic. And others come with jalapenos. Also, you can add in 1 can diced tomatoes, and 1 that is flavored. That would make your chili taste great. And of course you need a can of tomato sauce.

Finally, add in whatever spices you like, like garlic powder, slat, pepper, and chili powder. Some people like to add sweet BBQ sauce, but that is entirely up to you. You can serve chili as it is or next to some rice, bread, or pasta.

Crispy potatoes

Making crispy potatoes in a smart pot is super easy and quick. Start by peeling and dicing your potatoes. You want them to be bite size – not too big, not too small. Heat up your pot, add in about a cup of water, and put in your steamer. Place the potatoes inside the steamer and lock the multicooker’s lid. Make sure the vent is well locked because we need the potatoes to cook at high pressure. Set your timer for about 5 minutes.

After 5 minute, you need to let the pot cool down naturally. Which needs about 7-10 minutes. Once it’s cooled down, take out the potatoes, steamer and throw out any leftover water. Dry your pot well, and then set it to sauté. Add in some butter and throw in your steamed potatoes once it melts. Cook in your potatoes until they are nice, browned, and crispy. Enjoy!

Use Nutricook Multicooker to make those main courses

Chicken fajitas

Fajitas is a great dinner choice. You can serve them with cilantro rice, or wrap them up in tortillas. Whatever you choose, make sure to try this recipe because you will love it!

First, prepare your spices. You’ll need 1 tablespoon of: cornstarch, chili powder, cumin, smoked or regular paprika, salt, sugar, garlic powder, onion powder. Mix all those spices together in a bowl and then add them to your chicken. To make the cooking process easier, make sure your chickens are cut into tenders.

Make sure the spice mix covers the chicken well. Then add in some olive oil and mix it all up again. Place your chicken in the cooking pot with some lime juice, water, bell peppers, and red onions. You can choose red, yellow, green, or orange bell peppers. Close the lid and vent, choose pressure cook, and set the timer for about 4-6 minutes at high. When cooking time is done, use quick pressure release.

And there you have it, delicious chicken fajitas in no time. Serve them up with some tomato salsa, guacamole and enjoy!

Pot roast

Some mums hear the words “pot roast” and are filled with fear. But with Nutricook Multicooker, this recipe cannot be any easier. And here’s how to make it.

You’ll need:

  • 1 – 1.5 kgs of roast.
  • 2 cups of beef broth.
  • 3 tablespoons flour.
  • Brown sugar, half a tablespoon.
  • Vegetables: garlic (minced, about 1 tablespoon), a diced onion, diced celery, 2 chopped carrots, chopped potatoes (or baby potatoes).
  • Seasoning: 1 tablespoons of salt, pepper (white & black), onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, oregano.
  • Herbs: 2-3 bay leaves, thyme, and rosemary.

How to make it?

  • 1| Wash, peel, dice, and prepare all your vegetables.
  • 2| Mix up all the seasonings together in a bowl with the flour.
  • 3| Coat your roast with the seasoning mix. Make sure to cover it all well. Set it aside for a few minutes.
  • 4| Add in 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil in your Nutricook Multicooker, and set it to sauté – warm or medium.
  • 5| Once your oil is hot, add in the seasoned roast directly into the pot. Cook each side for 1 minute, or until it gets browned. To flip it easily, use 2 kitchen tongs. Once it’s done, remove it from the pot.
  • 6| Add in butter to the empty pot, and once it melts, throw in your onions, celery, and garlic. Make sure to scrape the pot to get any stuck seasonings.
  • 7| Once your onions are translucent, add in the broth and herbs. Mix it all together, then put back your roast.
  • 8| Lock your lid, and set your smart pot to pressure cook for about 40 minutes. When the timer goes off, open your vent and release the pressure.
  • 9| When all the steam is gone, open the lid. Add in your potatoes and carrots. And close the lid again. Pressure cook it all together for another 20 minutes.
  • 10| After 20 minutes, your carrots and potatoes should be cooked all the way.

To make the gravy, remove your roast from the pot. And stir 2-3 tablespoons of cornstarch into cold water. Then add them into your pot. This will give you a delicious thick gravy to go with your pot roast. Bon Appetit!
