Jada Pinkett Smith may have played a mom-shamer in a movie (suitably) called Bad Moms, but that is a far cry from who she is in real life. When it comes to parenting, the renowned actress—who has two children, Jaden and Willow, with husband Will Smith, plus a stepson from Will’s previous marriage—thinks that we should all be celebrating and supporting other moms, whether we agree with each other’s methods or not. We love this approach!
”The full-time job of being a mother is challenging,” Jada recently admitted in an interview. “I think it’s one of the world’s most underrated jobs. People talk about how much they appreciate motherhood, but in my opinion, it’s not honoured in the way that it should be.”
One of the biggest challenges, according to Jada, is that the work we do as parents is continuously evolving and changing. “Motherhood is a brand new experience every time,” the actress explained. “You might have it all figured out with one child and then have another, and that child needs something completely different from you and your partner. And that’s why, Pinkett Smith says, we need to actively change the dated notion of motherhood as something ”one-size-fits-all”, to quit throwing shade, and focus on supporting each other.
Music to our ears Jada. Thank you for speaking up from your mum-fans across the globe.
