7 Things for Mums to Do During Their “Me Time” in Dubai

7 Things for Mums to Do During Their “Me Time” in Dubai

Being a mum is very time consuming, whether you are a working mum or a stay at home mum. You focus on your work, home, and family so hard that sometimes you can forget about yourself. That is why we recommend having a day just for you to pamper yourself. Having a day for yourself is good to recharge your energy and come back stronger both physically and mentally. Here are 7 things for mums to do during their “me time” in Dubai. You can do these things either by yourself or your friends!

Things for Mums to Do in Dubai

1| Go to your favorite coffee shop

When you are a mum, you might forget to give yourself some alone time to simply enjoy a cup of coffee. Forget about coffee at home, because you do it everyday, and go out for a cup of coffee at your favorite coffee house. If you are in Dubai, we recommend you visit Dubai Mall and enjoy your favorite drink at the cafes that overlook Dubai’s Fountain.

You can turn this into a whole breakfast with your husband, your sister, or your mum. Going out early in the morning and doing something fun will leave you feeling good and energetic for the rest of the day.

2| Plan a day out with friends

If you haven’t seen your friends in a long while, then plan a day out with them. Get a nanny, or leave your kids with your husband and go out for a day of fun for yourself. You can get brunch at one of the many cafes in Jumeirah Beach Residence. And then go together to a spa or a hair salon to get your hair and nails done.

There are many other things you can do with friends. Like going on a shopping spree at the Mall of the Emirates. You can also look for live shows to enjoy for a ladies night out!

3| Book a spa day

Some mums prefer to spend their “me time” by themselves. If that is what you are looking for, then we suggest a spa day all to yourself. Book a whole day at your favorite spa, or go to one that you have been dying to check out. Pamper yourself with massages, steam rooms, Jacuzzis, deep cleaning facials, and whatever your heart desires.

A day at the spa will help you relax and leave all your worries and stress behind. It will give you the energy to keep doing the wonderful things you do for your family.

4| Meditate

If you cannot have a whole day to yourself, then you can have a couple hours to meditate. Meditation is one of the best mental and physical exercises for mums to relax, energize, and focus on their body and mind.

If you cannot go to a gym, a yoga class, or a meditation center, then you can do it at home. If you are a stay at home mum, use the time when your baby naps and meditate. Pick a mat, a corner, get some candles and set the mood however you like. Meditate for an hour or so and enjoy this calming and relaxing experience.

5| Be home alone

Some mums love to simply be home alone for their own personal time. Plan a playdate for your kids, or have your husband take them out to the park. Simple pleasures like sitting alone drinking a cup of tea peacefully can be missed when you have a baby. And this is a way to do it!

If you like to keep yourself busy, you can do little things that you cannot do with a baby, like read a book, rearrange your jewelry box, or take a long bubble bath.

Being alone away from all the noises can really benefit your mental health. It recharges you to get back to your responsibilities and chores as well.

6| Discover new places and areas

We all have a place or an area that we wish to discover where we live. With kids and work taking up all of your time, that could be a little difficult. Leave your kids with the nanny or their grandparents and go on a drive around to check out those new places that you have been wanting to visit.

Be it a museum, a park, or a new shop that you heard of. You can also just drive around with an iced coffee and discover the area to plan ahead where to go on your next adventure.

7| Watch a movie

Do you have a list of movies to watch but did not because you cannot watch them with your kids? Trust us, we all do. Take some time to watch a movie by yourself at home, or at a cinema. You can make a day out of it and throw a marathon to watch three or four movies that you want. Get your popcorn and snacks and enjoy your time in front of the big screen.
